JIrnsum: New Year's Dive 2025 will continue as usual

#New Year's Dive What is cancelled in The Hague will continue on the beach of Jirnsum: the traditional dive in the river Boarn & the old Middelsee on January 1, 2025. This year, Omroep Friesland broadcast the New Year's Dive live on radio and TV from Jirnsum.

Of course there was pea soup afterwards, certificates and the orange caps of the well-known Dutch sponsor. The organization for the third edition everything was well organized again: from permit to sufficient volunteers who brought the pots of hot soup from home for the divers.

The NOS and the Journaal also paid attention to the New Year's dive in Jirnsum. And Jirnsum also went international: in Suriname our Frisian village was world news for a while.

The annual dive is organized by the so-called Boarn Babes , a swimming group of women living in JIrnsum who dive and swim in the Boarn river every week - in spring, summer, fall and winter. The group was spontaneously founded four years ago and is gaining more and more enthusiastic swimming 'members'.
