Welcome to the website of our Mauritius Church in Jirnsum! Here with us—in the heart of Friesland—you can be who you are and do what you want.

Our central location in one of Friesland's oldest villages (7th century, on a Frisian mound between Leeuwarden, Sneek, Heerenveen and Grou) makes our church the perfect base for exploring Friesland.

About us and our AirBnChurchB in Friesland

We—Bonnie, Charles, and Yara—live in the Mauritius Church in Jirnsum, a picturesque village in the municipality of Leeuwarden. We thoroughly enjoy the area and look forward to telling you more about this beautiful part of Friesland.

As a true Frisian, Bonnie knows the area like the back of her hand. After more than 20 years of living and working abroad, we decided five years ago that it was time to return to our roots and look for a new challenge. So we bought a church that was at risk of demolition.

In which countries we have lived and worked: China (Beijing 2014-2019), Russia (St. Petersburg, Moscow), England (London), Finland, Estonia.
